CDOT to Start Highway 194 Work
(Bent County) -- Road work is expected to begin this week on a project on Highway 194 at the Otero-Bent County line. According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, the work includes resurfacing 10 miles of roadway between mile points 10.10 to 20.08. The project will also include culvert drainage and water control improvements, seeding, guardrail, signs, and striping.

The project is expected to last approximately 4 months with all working hours being during the day, Monday through Friday. No weekend or work on the holiday is expected.
Alternating single-lane closures on CO194 can be expected during project work hours.
High visibility markings, stabilized shoulders, and paved turnouts will be in place with the project which is expected to cost 5.6 million dollars.
