Hot air rises so why mount heaters near the ceiling? Most people grew up in homes, which were heated with hot air, and as we all know, it rises. Most people do not understand radiant heat. It will heat anything in its line of sight, up - down - sideways, it does not matter. Radiant heat, unlike hot air, is unaffected by gravity.
